We went on the tour checking off a spot on the bourbon trail and had a good time. It was really informative and didn't take too long maybe about an hour. There is a tasting at the end of the tour with a tasty bourbon ball. The bourbon is really good especially the double oak and the bourbon balls are probably the best I have ever had. Grab a box of the bourbon balls while there cause it's not that easy to get some elsewhere.
The distillery was a good place to spend an afternoon. The drive in is great with the rolling fields and horses. The tour was pretty interesting and you get to taste the whiskey at the end. The only knock on this place is that they don't serve alcohol, which is kind of ironic. It would make waiting around for a tour much better if you could sip on a glass of the whiskey.
Did just the $10 tasting and it was fantastic. Chocolate and taste of three. Drive into Woodford is stunning with horses and fields...your imagined vision of old Kentucky bourbon trail.
The tour was short and sweet and the tasting at the end was nice, but a little rushed. Be prepared to sample three Bourbons (about a half ounce each) in less than 15 minutes. The shop has wonderful souvenirs, albeit a little pricey.
Great place for family and friends. Our guide, Kathy, a retired school teacher, was full of good cheer. She was knowledgeable and entertaining. Woodford is a terrific place for photography. Bourbon testing a perfect ending to a memorable visit.
